Gilbert Model Railroad Club (GMRC) at the Gilbert Historical Museum

GMRC is a club of railroad enthusiasts who are modeling (HO Scale) middle Arizona during the mid 50's era.
Our layout is located in the basement of the Gilbert Historical Museum and includes part of the Southern Pacific and the Santa Fe railroads serving Arizona.
Key focus areas include Gilbert, AZ and the surrounding area; Phoenix rail yards, passenger service and notable industries; Arizona mines serviced by the Southern Pacific and other surrounding communities including, Glendale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, etc.
The club hosts operating sessions on the third Tuesday of the month. Additionally, there is an automated display with the trains running through the town of Gilbert as the key diorama.
Regular work sessions are held most Tuesday and Thursday nights between 7-10 PM Scheduled club activity is as follows: 2nd Tuesday - Club Membership Meeting starting at 8:00 PM 3rd Tuesday - Train operations/running night Last Tuesday - Club Board Meeting starting at 8:00 PM The layout is staffed on most Saturdays from 10-1
During holiday season, the club is closed.
Persons interested in railroading and/or membership are welcome at all times.
